5. July 2010 - CCBT Goes Double-Dutch with Contract Wins
CCBT Ltd, a Birmingham-based developer of computer-aided cognitive behaviour therapy, has signed two international development and license contracts with Innohealth BV, a major Dutch mental health provider.
The contracts enable CCBT to create a Dutch version of its leading product FearFighter and supply a range of online self-help products that combine pyscho-education and treatment.
FearFighter is a software-based product designed to help treat patients suffering from panic, anxiety and phobia, particularly when they are combined with depression or obsessive compulsive disorders. Recommended by NICE (the National Institute of Clinical Excellence) as clinically effective, FearFighter can be accessed online by both patients and healthcare providers such as GPs. It will be rolled out into the mainstream Dutch health sector later this year.
CCBT's online self-help products that will be supplied to Innohealth include MoodLifter, which helps to treat depression and will be available by the end of July.
Nick Niziolomski, managing director of CCBT, said: "We are very excited that CCBT's products are now being used across the globe. We anticipate FearFighter to be as well-received overseas as it has been in the UK – and MoodLifter has already gained considerable interest from the Dutch Insurance Companies, which fund healthcare in Holland . Following this success, we are now planning to launch an additional product portfolio into the UK ."
CCBT's two contract wins were aided by the Birmingham City Council Business Loan Fund (managed by Investbx), which enabled the company to enhance its development platform – such as customising existing products and incorporating content to generate a range of new products for a variety of mental health treatments.
